*I'm writing you today because I want you to be one of the first people to hear the news.
You know me. We've fought together on the Pro-Life issue. And as we have seen this week in Indiana, this is a fight that never ends and a fight that we must win.
There is no greater battleground for our fight than the U.S. Senate. With the prospect of Supreme Court decisions and the current make-up of the court, a Pro-Life Senator could mean the difference between victory or utter defeat for the Pro-Life movement in the years to come.
That's why I'm announcing that I am exploring a run to be the next U.S. Senator from New Mexico in 2020.
I will not be able to win without you. I need all the support of the Pro-Life movement in New Mexico.
For those of you who don't remember me, my name is Elisa Maria Martinez. I am a native New Mexican born and raised in the heart of Indian Country, in Gallup. I'm a registered tribal member of the great Navajo Nation, with Hispanic roots that go back 15 generations in New Mexico.
I would be the first woman ever elected to the Senate from New Mexico. I would bring to the Senate a strong, clear, unwavering voice for women and the unborn. I need your help to see if that is possible.
Quick Donate $10 ›› Quick Donate $25 ›› Quick Donate $50 ›› Quick Donate $100 ›› I am New Mexican through and through. I love New Mexico, our amazing people, our rich culture, our long-standing traditions and of course the best green chile on the planet – sorry Colorado!
Growing up in Gallup, I saw the American Dream up close: when a rancher was able to keep more of what they earned, or a laborer was able to succeed because of their talents, or when a small business owner, like my Dad, was not overburdened by taxes and regulation.
I learned from my family, and from Gallup, what liberty and opportunity means to hard-working people. They instilled in me a deep faith in God and the American people.
I also witnessed firsthand the devastation federal government control and socialist-style policies had on the Indian reservation. That is why I've grown so concerned with what is happening in our state and our nation.
New Mexico ranks 49th in the U.S in education, 48th in economic opportunity, and 49th in violent crime. We all know this has gone on too long.
In the 2020 election, we will have a clear choice. We can accept the socialist-style policies Democrats are offering, that would devastate our state's economy. Or, we can elect leaders who will fight for New Mexico's values – leaders that will support New Mexico's economic growth and embrace liberty, freedom. We can continue to work hard to protect the lives of women and the unborn, or we can accept a U.S. Senator from New Mexico who does not share our faith, our values or our compassion.
This is why I am considering a run for the open U.S. Senate seat in 2020. Will you let me know if I have your support by making a donation today?
Quick Donate $10 ›› Quick Donate $25 ›› Quick Donate $50 ›› Quick Donate $100 ›› In my life, I have always been a fighter. I've fought for those who struggle. I've worked to help the forgotten. With the LIBRE Initiative I connected Latino ideals of self-reliance, free enterprise and job creation with people all across our state. In my work to protect women and the unborn, I formed a bipartisan coalition statewide to defeat radical infanticide and abortion up-to-birth proposals.
The Left would like us to focus only on our problems and division, rather than the progress we can make together. President Trump recently visited New Mexico. Hearing him unfiltered, listening as he spoke boldly of his economic vision for New Mexico rooted in diversity, freedom and energy independence was very promising.
New Mexico, with our long-standing values of faith, culture and respect for life is exactly what we need to counter those voices that only seek to divide our nation.
In the weeks to come, I will be listening to and talking with many of you. I believe you share my concerns and my hopes for our state. We will talk, discuss and share, and then I will decide on the next steps to take to improve the lives of working people in New Mexico and our country.
Sincerely,
Elisa Martinez
